Le forze di pace dell’Organizzazione del Trattato di sicurezza collettiva hanno portato a termine la loro missione in Kazakistan ed è ora che tornino a casa, queste le parole pronunciate oggi dal presidente russo Vladimir Putin. “Abbiamo portato a termine il nostro compito, è ora di tornare a casa” ha detto Putin in un incontro con il ministro della Difesa Sergey Shoigu. Il presidente ha ringraziato il ministro della Difesa, lo Stato maggiore e tutti coloro che hanno guidato l’operazione. “Voglio esprimere la speranza che questa pratica di utilizzare le nostre forze armate venga ulteriormente studiata, eventuali adeguamenti verranno implementati” ha aggiunto il presidente.
In conformità con una decisione del Consiglio di sicurezza collettiva della CSTO presa il 6 gennaio 2022, le forze collettive di mantenimento della pace dell’organizzazione sono state inviate in Kazakistan per un periodo limitato in modo da stabilizzare e normalizzare la situazione nella repubblica dell’Asia centrale. Il contingente di mantenimento della pace comprendeva unità delle forze armate di Russia, Bielorussia, Armenia, Tagikistan e Kirghizistan. Alle forze di pace russe in Kazakistan è stato assegnato il compito di proteggere le principali strutture strategiche ad Almaty. Oggi 13 gennaio, la CSTO ha iniziato il ritiro graduale delle sue forze collettive di mantenimento della pace dal Kazakistan che durerà diversi giorni.
