Una unità della Guardia di finanza ha aperto il fuoco contro un peschereccio tunisino che non s’è fermato all’Alt e che, tentando di scappare, ha speronato una motovedetta.
Il peschereccio “Mohanel Anmed”, dopo l’inseguimento in acque internazionali, è stato bloccato dai militari delle Fiamme gialle che lo stanno adesso conducendo a Lampedusa (Ag).
Ad intercettare il motopesca con le reti calate in mare, a circa 9 miglia dall’isolotto di Lampione, è stata la Capitaneria di Lampedusa. Il natante tunisino anziché fermarsi, ha invertito la rotta nel tentativo di darsi alla fuga guadagnando l’alto mare. La Guardia di finanza ha inviato, a supporto, il Pv 7 Paolini del comando operativo aeronavale e una vedetta del reparto operativo aeronavale della Guardia di finanza di Vibo Valentia, entrambe a Lampedusa. Durante l’inseguimento, durato alcune ore e filmato da velivoli del comando operativo aeronavale e dell’agenzia europea Frontex, nonostante l’esplosione di alcuni colpi a scopo intimidatorio da parte dell’unità maggiore, il peschereccio non solo non consentiva l’abbordaggio, ma metteva in atto una serie di manovre che hanno messo in pericolo l’incolumità degli stessi militari che cercavano di salire. Al termine dell’inseguimento, i militari hanno abbordato il peschereccio e lo hanno portato al porto di Lampedusa dove, con il coordinamento del procuratore capo Luigi Patronaggio e dell’aggiunto Salvatore Vella, è stato arrestato il comandante del motopesca e sequestrate le reti illecitamente utilizzate.
