L’agenzia Reuters ha riferito che questa coalizione si chiamerà “Gruppo di amici in difesa della Carta delle Nazioni Unite” e i membri fondatori del gruppo sono Cina, Russia, Corea del Nord, Iran, Algeria, Angola, Bielorussia, Bolivia, Cambogia , Cuba, Eritrea, Laos, Nicaragua, Palestina, Saint Vincent e Grenadine, Siria e Venezuela.
I paesi denunciano che il multilateralismo “è attualmente sotto attacco senza precedenti, il che, a sua volta, minaccia la pace e la sicurezza nel mondo”.
“Il mondo sta assistendo a una crescente deriva verso l’unilateralismo, segnato da azioni isolazioniste e arbitrarie, tra cui l’imposizione di misure coercitive unilaterali o il ritiro di accordi e istituzioni multilaterali storici, nonché tentativi di minare importanti sforzi per affrontare sfide comuni e globali”.

Il nuovo presidente degli Stati Uniti, Joe Biden, ha deciso di rientrare dell’accordo sul clima di Parigi.
Biden ha anche promesso di tornare al patto nucleare con l’Iran.
Però fino a questo momento, specialmente in tema di esteri, le politiche di Biden paiono essere in sostanziale continuità con quelle del predecessore Trump.
