Aperta un’indagine penale sul caso di un presunto simpatizzante neofascista che ha affermato di essersi recato in Ucraina per combattere la Russia e prevenire la “denazificazione” della nazione. Kevin Chiappalone, 19 anni, è accusato di essere un mercenario arruolato nella brigata internazionale ucraina ed è diventato il primo italiano ad essere processato nel Paese per aver combattuto dalla parte ucraina nel conflitto in corso tra Mosca e Kiev. Il procuratore antimafia e antiterrorismo di Genova, Marco Zocco, ha avviato un’indagine su Chiappalone, ha riferito l’agenzia di stampa italiana ANSA mercoledì.
L’uomo rischia dai due ai sette anni di reclusione ai sensi di una legge del 1995 che vieta agli italiani di partecipare a un conflitto armato per conto di nazioni straniere. Secondo quanto riferito, l’indagine è stata avviata dopo che Chiappalone ha rilasciato un’intervista anonima al settimanale Italiano Panorama a marzo in cui ha affermato che stava cercando di impedire alla Russia di “rianimare l’Unione Sovietica” e che avrebbe “fatto ciò che è necessario”, incluso uccidere “il nemico”. Identificato nell’intervista come un “membro della milizia di estrema destra”, Chiappalone sarebbe legato dall’ANSA al gruppo neofascista CasaPound Italia (CPI).
A seguito della notizia dell’inchiesta, Chiappalone ha parlato all’ANSA e ha contestato le accuse a suo carico.
“Non sono venuto qui per soldi, non ho nemmeno 400 euro in tasca”
ha detto all’ANSA. Chiappalone ha anche negato di essersi recato in Ucraina per impedirne la denazificazione da parte della Russia.
“CasaPound non ha nulla a che fare con questo e non l’ho fatto perché Putin voleva denazificare il Donbass”
ha detto venerdì.
