Un cessate il fuoco tra Israele e gruppi palestinesi che controllano la Striscia di Gaza è entrato in vigore venerdì alle 2 del mattino ora locale. Al-Aqsa TV riporta che si celebra la “vittoria della resistenza” nella Striscia di Gaza, mentre centinaia di persone sono scese in piazza a Ramallah con bandiere palestinesi per segnare la fine delle ostilità, lanciati anche alcuni fuochi d’artificio. La tregua è stata raggiunta dopo 11 giorni di intensi conflitti e bombardamenti, soprattutto da parte israeliana. Secondo la tv di stato egiziana, giovedì il presidente egiziano Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi aveva dato istruzioni di inviare due delegazioni in Palestina e Israele per monitorare il cessate il fuoco. Una fonte ufficiale del Cairo ha dichiarato all’agenzia TASS, “un gruppo di delegati è già a Ramallah che discute con la parte palestinese per ottenere un cessate il fuoco, il secondo si dirigerà urgentemente a Tel Aviv”.

Secondo gli ultimi dati, 232 palestinesi nella Striscia di Gaza e almeno 12 israeliani sono stati uccisi.
