Un malfunzionamento sta interessando i servizi di Google su scala globale. I disservizi sono apparentemnte a macchia di leopardo. Il sito downdetector.com mostra decine di migliaia di segnalazioni per il browser, la posta di Gmail, la videochat di Google Meet e Google Classroom, nonché Google Drive e YouTube. Tra i servizi coinvolti anche Hangouts, Play e Duo. Molte sono le segnalazioni provenienti dall’Europa, anche per via del fuso orario,ma non mancqno quelle dagli Stati Uniti, dal Canada, dall’Australia, dal Sud Africa, dall’India, dall’America Centrale e dall’America del Sud. Diversi anche i messaggi lasciati dagli utenti su Twitter con hashtag #googledown.
Le prime segnalazioni dei disservizi sono arrivate poco prima delle 13 ora italiana, per malfunzionamenti di Gmail, Youtube, Meet e Drive. In particolare è saltato il servizio di videochiamata Meet, che ospita molte delle lezioni di milioni di studenti attualmente in DaD (Didattica a Distanza) in tutta Europa.

Su YouTube al momento compare la scritta “Qualcosa è andato storto”, mentre su Gmail si legge “Spiacenti… il sistema ha riscontrato un problema”. “Siamo consapevoli che ci sono problemi di accesso a YouTube, stiamo lavorando per capire. Vi aggiorneremo se non appena avremo notizie”, scrive YouTube dal suo profilo Twitter. Al momento non ci sono spiegazioni sul motivo del malfunzionamento, qualche utente ipotizza che il problema sia legato agli account degli utenti con Google: YouTube, per esempio, sembra funzionare correttamente se si accede in modalità “in incognito”.
